The Ventico 3126 CDPF Engine Package offers a smart, affordable solution for underground mining operations looking to modernise emissions compliance while retaining the trusted performance of the Caterpillar 3126 platform. Developed as a cost-effective upgrade path from existing Sandvik 3126 engine packages, this solution allows operators to retain their original engine by modifying only key components—turbocharger, scrubber, and aftercooler—streamlining the conversion and preserving fleet familiarity.
At the core of the package is Ventico’s patented Catalysed Diesel Particulate Filter (CDPF) — a fully passive, washable, and reusable ceramic filtration system that totally eliminates the use of disposable filters. With no active regeneration, no paper elements, and minimal maintenance requirements, the CDPF significantly improves underground air quality and reduces long-term operating costs.
This package has already proven its value through extensive field use at a central Queensland coal mine, where eight machines equipped with the Ventico 3126 CDPF system achieved exceptional emissions performance. Results included substantial reductions in diesel particulate matter, CO, hydrocarbons, and NOₓ emissions. The deployment also generated valuable operational data, which Ventico used to refine and optimise the system for real-world durability and compliance.
